Job description
Purpose
Isiphethu Group Holdings is looking for a qualified and dependable Diesel Mechanic to support
our operations team, with a strong emphasis on hands-on work, safety compliance,
preventative maintenance, and ensuring the consistent reliability of our fleet.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Inspect and Diagnose: Perform thorough inspections of diesel engines and related
systems to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
- Repair and Maintenance: Conduct both minor and major repairs on diesel engines,
including replacing defective parts and performing routine maintenance tasks such as
oil changes and tire rotations and attending to the LDVs and their Maintenance.
- Preventative Maintenance: Implement regular preventative maintenance schedules to
reduce the likelihood of future breakdowns and ensure optimal performance of diesel
vehicles and machinery.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other mechanics and technicians to troubleshoot
problems and plan repairs effectively.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts
used, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Desired Qualification & Experience
- Diploma or equivalent qualification in Diesel Mechanics is required
- 5 plus Experience in diesel mechanics or a related field is preferred
- Code 10 -1 4Drivers License
- Certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is
highly desirable and can enhance employment opportunities.
