Job description

We are looking for a Junior Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team in Vereeniging. The successful candidate must have hands-on experience working on diesel engines in a workshop or production environment and be willing to learn and grow within a fast-paced operation.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on diesel vehicles and mechanical equipment
Maintain and repair site equipment including forklifts, TLB, generator, and company vehicles
Assist with fault finding on diesel engines, fuel systems, hydraulics, and basic electrical systems
Perform inspections and report defects before breakdowns occur
Maintain service records and job cards
Support breakdown response to ensure minimal downtime
Work safely and follow workshop and maintenance procedures

Minimum Requirements

At least 2–3 years’ experience as a diesel mechanic (or diesel assistant mechanic)
Good understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and basic electrics
Able to work under pressure in a production / industrial environment
Must be based in (or willing to travel daily to) Vereeniging

Advantageous

Relevant trade qualification or technical training
Experience on forklifts, trucks, generators, plant equipment, and vehicles
Valid driver’s licence

Pay: From R120,00 per hour

Work Location: In person
