Job Summary

WZK Cargo Carriers is seeking a qualified and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our growing fleet operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and servicing heavy commercial vehicles to ensure maximum fleet uptime and reliability.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 3 years proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
• Strong knowledge and experience working on:
• Volvo Trucks
• Scania Trucks
• Mercedes-Benz Trucks
• UD Trucks
• Other heavy commercial vehicles
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must have own reliable vehicle.
• Must have own tools suitable for breakdown and workshop repairs.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work after hours, weekends, and public holidays when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and servicing on heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and engine faults.
• Conduct repairs on engines, gearboxes, differentials, braking systems, suspension systems, and electrical systems.
• Attend to roadside breakdowns and emergency call-outs.
• Ensure vehicles comply with safety and roadworthy standards.
• Complete job cards and maintenance reports accurately.
• Carry out preventative maintenance to reduce vehicle downtime.
• Work closely with management to schedule repairs and maintenance.
• Assist with fleet inspections and identify potential issues before breakdowns occur.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Remuneration

Salary will be market-related and based on qualifications, experience, and technical ability.
