Job description

Job Purpose

Coordinate and Administer MIS, Business Systems and aviation IT functions within SAAT, and assist all sections with network, IT security and AMOS administration to optimise the usage of information systems implementation and processes within SAAT.

Principal Accountabilities

Provide data and analysis of the MIS related systems in order to deploy solutions, rectify problems, recommend and co-ordinate system enhancement and the implementation thereof.

Plan and co-ordinate preparatory data insertion requirements for new aircrafts.

Ensure implementation and sustenance of the MIS as an administrator to coordinate and monitor IT requirements within SAAT.

Audit, monitor and produce data reports on the information systems to ensure functionality of existing procedures and work instructions within SAAT.

Co-ordinate information systems change requirements with IT department and external parties.

Analyse user IT problems and escalate for correction where necessary.

Perform IT & MIS business administrator functions (basic tables, configurations, parameters etc.)

Liaise with the system user and IT department to develop and improve MIS business processes and software requirements.

Initiate, arrange, chair and attend meetings to co-ordinate activities between various departments on issues related to MIS.

Maintain records and inventory of IT peripherals within SAAT.

Arrange data downloads from the mainframe and convert to a windows based environment for SAAT.

Coordinate SAAT IT activities with management and service providers as required.

Coordinate laptops and other IT assets refreshments to ensure optimum usage

Coordinate in and out of baseline requests of laptops, printers and other IT peripherals.

Communicate, follow-up and expedite account problems, loan laptops, printer issues and permits as required.

Perform rectifications and enhancements required for the information systems and monitor timeous accomplishment.

Assist in the development of budget and control of section expenditure on IT related initiatives.

Identify and assist in development of MIS training needs for deficiencies within SAAT, to ensure that all staff are trained such that they can perform their duties efficiently.

Provide support to SAAT users on IT requirements and projects to speed up the processes for optimal usage.

Analyse and understand the business IT processes to ensure the context and implications of change are understood by users.

Develop and distribute IT and scheduled MIS reports to improve reporting within SAAT

Provide a 24 Hr IT and MIS support service to all sections as required.

Qualifications & Experience

Grade 12 - ESSENTIAL

Be a certified aviation technician with 5 years’ certification experience AND a qualification in IT - ESSENTIAL

OR N6 or higher diploma in Information technology, with 5 years in an IT environment - ESSENTIAL

OR

Appointed business systems or data analyst with 4 years in aircraft maintenance IT environment or MIS - ESSENTIAL

AMOS Administartor Diploma - Essential

A+ & N+ Qualifications/courses - Advantageous

Knowledge and Skills

Communication (written and verbal) - Advanced

Knowledge of office automation products, databases and remote control - Intermediate
