Job description
The opportunity We are looking for an instructional designer, e-learning developer, educational technologist or digitally confident educator who can translate scientific knowledge into engaging digital learning.
Your year will have two complementary parts4–5 months: Environmental education* Teach environmental science and Life Sciences directly to learners.
- Test digital concepts and activities with real children.
- Use classroom and field experience to improve online learning.
- Support hands-on environmental education programmes.
- Help educators understand and use new digital resources.
The rest of the year: Specialist work* Develop online environmental and Life Sciences learning materials.
- Create interactive lessons, activities, quizzes and learning pathways.
- Translate scientific concepts into accessible digital experiences.
- Align content with relevant curricula.
- Work with scientists to ensure scientific accuracy.
- Work with educators to ensure learning value.
- Develop and test digital products and improve them using learner feedback.
- Explore AI-assisted education and scalable learning systems.
Requirements
Qualifications & experience* A Bachelor's degree or postgraduate qualification in education, instructional design, digital learning, educational technology, science communication, environmental science or a related field is beneficial.
- Demonstrated digital learning or educational product experience is highly valued.
- Ability to teach is essential.
