Digital Marketing & Graphic Design Specialist

Pretoria, Gauteng
Job description
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an evolved role replacing our Junior Graphic Designer position. We are seeking a versatile, tech-forward professional who combines strong graphic design expertise with hands-on digital marketing execution. You will drive social media growth, manage paid advertising campaigns on Meta and Google, and champion the use of AI tools (Claude, Grok and others) to deliver high-impact creative and performance results in a fast-paced environment.
If you are a creative who thrives on data, loves using AI to work smarter and faster, and wants to help build a vibrant premium golf lifestyle brand – this is your opportunity.
ABOUT US
We design and supply high-quality performance wear, vintage collections, woven belts, custom hats, and branded merchandise for golf societies, corporate events, and lifestyle golfers. Our brand is fun, vibrant, and premium. We use modern tools daily — Claude, Grok, Asana for project management, and Shopify for e-commerce. Our team is energetic, collaborative, and passionate about delivering exceptional work and building something special in the golf space.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create high-quality, on-brand visual content for social media (posts, Stories, Reels), website, email campaigns, product mockups, client proposals, and marketing collateral using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign to professional standards.
- Develop and manage social media content calendars and strategies for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and LinkedIn. Engage with our community, analyse performance metrics, and continuously optimise reach and engagement.
- Plan, launch, manage and optimise Meta Ads (Facebook/Instagram) and Google Ads campaigns — including creative testing, audience targeting, budget management, A/B testing, and detailed performance reporting with clear ROI insights.
- Be an AI power user: Daily leverage Claude, Grok, and other generative AI tools for campaign ideation, compelling copywriting, image generation & editing, content variation creation, workflow automation, and productivity gains. Bring new AI workflows to the team!
- Support Shopify e-commerce operations (strong advantage): Optimise product imagery and pages, manage collections, assist with store customisations, and ensure the online experience reflects our premium brand positioning.
- Track and analyse marketing performance using Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, and ad platform dashboards. Prepare clear, actionable reports and recommendations that drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate on client custom branding projects, new product launches, ambassador programmes, and seasonal campaigns while maintaining strict brand consistency and injecting fresh creative energy.
- Work efficiently within our Asana project management system, maintain organised asset libraries, and consistently deliver high-quality work under pressure and tight deadlines.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' combined professional experience in graphic design and digital marketing roles (or a very strong portfolio demonstrating both creative excellence and marketing results).
- Advanced, professional-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). Your portfolio must showcase clean, commercial-standard design work suitable for social media and e-commerce.
- Hands-on, demonstrable experience running and optimising Meta Ads and Google Ads campaigns, with ability to analyse data and improve performance metrics.
- Proven, regular use of generative AI tools (Claude, Grok, ChatGPT, Midjourney, Firefly, etc.) in professional creative or marketing workflows. We will discuss specific examples and your AI productivity habits in detail.
- Strong understanding of social media strategy, content best practices, community management, and analytics/reporting tools.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills (Afrikaans advantageous for our South African market).
- Proven ability to thrive under pressure, manage multiple competing deadlines, maintain high attention to detail, and deliver quality work consistently.
- Must be able to work full-time from our office in Hazeldean Office Park, Silver Lakes, Pretoria East on a daily basis. Reliable transport is highly advantageous.
- Previous experience in e-commerce, fashion, apparel, sports, or lifestyle brands — golf or sports apparel experience is a significant advantage.
- Hands-on Shopify store management, theme customisation, or product page optimisation experience.
- Basic video editing and motion graphics skills (CapCut, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, or similar) for short-form video/Reels
- content.
- Copywriting experience or strong natural ability for ad copy, social captions, and email content.
- Familiarity with email marketing platforms (Klaviyo, Mailchimp), marketing automation, or basic SEO/web analytics.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Graphic Design, Digital Marketing, Marketing Communications, or a related creative/commercial
- field.
PERSONALITY & CULTURAL FIT (THIS MATTERS A LOT)
The right candidate will be a social butterfly who brings positive energy to the team and our community.
- Outgoing, positive, and collaborative — you light up the room and enjoy team interaction and brand representation.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, punctuality, and integrity. You take pride in your work and follow through.
- Calm and effective under pressure — we move fast, wear multiple hats, and hit deadlines together.
- Curious and tech-forward: genuinely excited by AI and new tools rather than resistant to change.
- A proactive team player who can also take ownership, work independently, and drive projects to completion.
- Aligned with our values of quality, creativity, customer focus, and building a brand that golfers love.
If you are creative, data-curious, AI-savvy, and ready to help take a premium golf brand to the next level in a supportive yet high-performance environment — you will thrive in the organisation.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Competitive, market-related salary package commensurate with your experience, skills, and the value you bring.
- Daily use of cutting-edge AI tools (Claude, Grok) in a supportive environment that encourages innovation and smart working.
- Direct, visible impact on a growing premium brand with both local South African and USA market initiatives.
- A fun, close-knit, energetic team that values collaboration, creativity, and genuine work-life balance alongside high performance.
- Beautiful, modern office location in Hazeldean Office Park, Silver Lakes — one of Pretoria East's most desirable areas.
- Real opportunities for learning, skill development, and career growth as the company expands rapidly.
- Staff product discounts and the chance to be part of exciting golf lifestyle events and activations.
