Job summary

The Dispatch Manager oversees the picking, packing, and dispatch of customer orders, manage reseller orders, liaise with sales/account management teams on reseller and retail order requirements to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and on-time fulfillment. This role manages the warehouse floor team, coordinates workflow between picking, packing, and shipping stages, and works closely with manufacturing, customer service, and logistics teams to meet delivery deadlines and quality standards.

Key responsibilities Plan and oversee daily picking and packing schedules to meet order deadlines Supervise, train, and motivate the dispatch team Allocate staff and resources based on order volume and priority Monitor order accuracy, ensuring correct items, quantities, and packaging before dispatch Coordinate with inventory/stock control to resolve shortages or discrepancies Ensure orders are dispatched on time and handed off correctly to couriers/delivery drivers Track and report on key performance metrics (order accuracy rate, picking speed, on-time dispatch rate, etc.) Maintain organized, safe, and efficient warehouse workflows Investigate and resolve packing/dispatch errors, damaged goods, or customer complaints related to fulfillment Ensure compliance with health & safety standards in the warehouse Identify and implement process improvements to increase throughput and reduce errors Manage relevant systems to track order status in real time Manage reseller orders in line with agreed terms (e.g. bulk quantities, special packaging, purchase order matching, and specific labeling requirements) Liaise with sales/account management teams on reseller and retail order requirements, timelines, and special requests

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications Matric certificate required; bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations, fulfillment, or order dispatch, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role Strong understanding of picking/packing workflows and warehouse management systems Experience with inventory tracking and order management software Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills Ability to work under pressure to meet dispatch deadlines, especially during peak periods Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment
