Dispatcher

PURPOSE

We are seeking an organised, proactive and customer-focused Dispatcher to coordinate the timely, accurate and efficient dispatch of customer and inter-branch orders.
The successful candidate will be responsible for vehicle scheduling, driver coordination, stock verification, dispatch administration, and communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure exceptional service delivery.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a warehouse, logistics or dispatch environment.
• Ability to interpret delivery schedules, stock documentation and proof of delivery records.
• Knowledge of local roads and areas.
• Basic understanding of vehicle models and parts (advantageous).
• Experience with stock / inventory systems (advantageous).
• Computer Literacy (Excel, Outlook)
• Proficient in the use of WhatsApp and WhatsApp groups for operational communication and coordination.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Effective time management and coordination ability.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: -

• Coordinate and dispatch drivers efficiently based on availability and location.
• Communicate clear delivery instructions and ensure timely execution.
• Monitor vehicle movements and proactively manage delays and customer expectations.
• Coordinate inter-branch transfers and logistics requirements.
• Verify outgoing and incoming stock for accuracy (products, codes, quantities).
• Maintain accurate dispatch records, proof of delivery (POD) documentation and related reports.
• Ensure all dispatch documentation is completed accurately and timeously.
• Resolve dispatch-related issues promptly and escalate where necessary.
• Ensure vehicle, communication equipment and dispatch resources remain operational at all times.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, stock control, and loss prevention
• Comply with health & safety regulations and company policies and procedures.
• Working Hours: Monday to Saturday.
