Distribution Planner

Job Title: Distribution Planner

Reporting to: Planning Manager - FSR & Brands Ambient

Purpose of the role:

Ensuring the right products are in the right place at the right time while balancing service levels, inventory, and risk stock.

Key Functions: Distribution & Replenishment Planning

• Create weekly replenishment plans to ensure product availability across all regions.
• Allocate stock based on demand, business priorities, inventory targets, and service level requirements.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels against agreed stock holding and service level targets.
• Balance inventory across the distribution network to minimise stock imbalances.
• Coordinate inter-regional stock transfers to optimise inventory utilisation.
• Manage product run-out and phase-in activities in collaboration with Inventory Planners and Commercial teams.
• Create picking slips to ensure FIFO/LIFO principles are applied where appropriate.
• Review and adjust replenishment parameters based on demand trends and supply constraints.
• Optimize truck utilization where applicable.
• Compile Availibity reports and run meetings with Inventory planner’s input
• Compile Risk Reports and run meetings with Inventory planner’s input
• Investigate slow-moving and obsolete stock.
• Monitor and communicate Regional ROS vs FC deviations to Demand Planner
• Monitor Distribution OTIF (Whs picking vs requested vs dispatch)
• Reduce transportation costs through efficient planning.
• Adhoc operations tasks

Relationship building and development

• Build trusting relationships with Rialto Colleagues [Planning, Commercial, Whse, Technical & NPD team]
• KPI reporting as required
• Backup responsibilities as agreed for Logistics Department

Qualifications/Knowledge

• Relevant Degree or Qualification (supply chain, planning or logistics preferable)
• 3 years Knowledge and experience in working with Syspro and Tradecloud preferred
• Knowledge of and 3 years' experience in planning in the FMCG industry vital
• Good understanding of Supply Chain processes
• Excel: Intermediate, advanced skills preferable
• Knowledge of import processes and procedures
• Numerical/ statistical analysis skills
