Job Advert Summary

TB HIV Care (THC), in existence since 1929, is an internationally recognized non-profit organization. We provide health care services throughout South Africa to both the general population and communities at increased risk for HIV and TB, including adolescent girls and young women, sex workers and people who use drugs. Purpose of the position:

To ensure the effective implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of Adolescent and youth Program (AYP) interventions with a special focus on the comprehensive package of sexual health services, TB, STI screening, diagnosis, HIV prevention, treatment and continuity of care.

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Nursing (General, Midwifery, Community nursing, Psychiatric nursing) or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years’ experience working in Primary Health Care setting, coupled with a minimum of 2 years management experience
  • Facilitation and capacity building experience
  • Extensive experience in HIV/AIDS, STI and TB treatment and care
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working with key and priority populations will be an advantage
  • Excellent knowledge of HIV, TB, SRH and STI, prevention approaches and DOH screening guidelines
  • An in-depth understanding and knowledge of legislative requirements, acceptable practices and procedures.
  • MS Office proficiency
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours which may include weekends from time to time
  • Willingness to travel as and when required

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee all implementation of the key and priority populations interventions in the district
  • Identify all training needs for all staff categories
  • Submit reports to program directors
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
  • Attend all relevant meetings as well as facilitate monthly and ad hoc staff meetings
  • Responsible for onsite supervision and completion of supervisory tools
  • Compile and submit monthly reports to program directors
  • Identify champions for different portfolios
  • Conduct performance session with all staff
  • Monitoring of monthly staff timesheets
  • Working closely with the Human Resource department in following all protocols
  • Implementation of the key and priority program as guided by SAGoSA guidelines.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures according to prescribed procedures and legislation
  • Report on all unsafe activities to Senior Management/Human Resources
  • Adhere to all Company Management SOP’s, Guidelines and Agreements
  • Adhere to and implement NDoH and THC SOPs and guidelines
  • Guides and support all staff in implementing key and priority services to beneficiaries
  • Facilitate complex case discussions with multi-disciplinary team at SR level as needed
  • Responsible for operational planning and oversight
  • Manage Service Delivery Indicators and Quality Improvement Initiatives
  • Setting of organizational goals, objectives and interventions for quality service delivery.
  • Produce inventory for all equipment received and report to NACOSA Programme directors on quarterly basis
  • Implementing and maintaining Quality assurance programmes
  • Monitoring the implementation of corrective measures to rectify deviations and mitigate risk
  • Checking and reinforcing first aid skills and understanding emergency procedures and linkages to care.
  • Monitoring the report of Child Abuse, GBV sexual assault and overseeing linkage to care
  • Providing health education on Family Planning, healthy lifestyles and social responsibilityUnderstand the M & E process and indicators
  • Ensure tool (optional) is updated and submitted to THC team monthly
