Job description
A family of three, together with one friendly French Bulldog puppy, is seeking a trustworthy, experienced, and caring Domestic Helper to join our household.
Position Details
- Location: Claremont, Cape Town
- Working Days: Monday to Saturday
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 16:30 | Saturday: 08:00 – 12:00
- Salary: R5,500 per month
- Employment Type: Full-time
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable individual who takes pride in maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming home. The successful applicant will become an important part of our household and should enjoy working in a family environment.
Key Responsibilities
- General household cleaning to a high standard.
- Washing, ironing, folding, and packing away laundry.
- Making beds and changing linen.
- Maintaining a neat and organised kitchen.
- Basic meal preparation and assistance with food preparation when required.
- Washing dishes and keeping kitchen appliances clean.
- Grocery unpacking and assisting with household organisation.
- Monitoring household cleaning supplies and advising when stock is running low.
- Caring for household furnishings, appliances, and finishes.
- Assisting with occasional household errands if required.
- Caring for our puppy, including feeding, refreshing water, supervision, cleaning up after the puppy, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Maintaining confidentiality and respecting the family's privacy at all times.
Minimum Requirements
- South African female.
- Previous experience working in a private family home.
- Contactable references from previous family employers are essential.
- Comfortable around dogs and genuinely enjoys caring for puppies.
- Honest, reliable, punctual, and well-presented.
- Good communication skills.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Non-smoker (preferred).
- Residing within reasonable travelling distance of Claremont will be an advantage.
Household Requirements
- This is a strictly no beef or pork household. The successful candidate must be willing to respect this household requirement while on the premises.
- Professionalism, honesty, and respect for the family's privacy are essential.
