What if your Revit models became the foundation for managing some of South Africa's largest grain handling and industrial facilities?

At VKB Group, we are investing in the digital transformation of our national property portfolio. We are looking for a technically skilled and forward-thinking Draughtsman (3D Scanning & BIM Modelling) to join our Properties Team and help create the digital record of critical infrastructure across our operations.

This is not a traditional drafting role.

You will work with advanced 3D laser scanning, point cloud technology, BIM workflows and Revit modelling to transform real-world facilities into accurate digital assets that support future planning, maintenance and development.

Reporting directly to the Group Architect, you will have the opportunity to travel across the VKB footprint, capturing, documenting and modelling grain handling facilities, warehouses, industrial plants and commercial properties that form the backbone of one of South Africa's leading agribusinesses.

What You Will Be Doing

As part of the VKB Properties Team, you will:

• Perform 3D laser scanning of grain silo complexes and associated facilities
• Capture, process and manage point cloud data
• Develop accurate Revit models and as-built documentation
• Create digital records of existing buildings and infrastructure
• Conduct site verification surveys and inspections
• Produce site development plans and evacuation drawings
• Support the Group Architect with technical documentation and project deliverables
• Ensure compliance with drafting standards and quality requirements
• Stay abreast of industry developments in BIM, digital construction and sustainable infrastructure practices

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

• Relevant Draughting Qualification
• Advanced Autodesk Revit proficiency
• Strong technical drawing and construction documentation experience
• Sound understanding of building construction methods and detailing
• Knowledge of applicable building regulations, codes and drafting standards
• Ability to manage projects independently while collaborating with multiple stakeholders
• Strong accuracy and attention to detail

Experience That Will Set You Apart

Candidates with experience in the following areas will be highly regarded:

• 3D laser scanning and reality capture technologies
• Point cloud processing and modelling
• Autodesk ReCap, CloudWorx or similar software
• BIM implementation and management
• Industrial, agricultural or large-scale infrastructure projects
• Council submissions and statutory approval processes

Regular travel to VKB facilities and project sites forms part of this role.
