Position

Locum Driver Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Maintain safety standards during the transportation of laboratory specimens and medicines.
Ensure timely transportation of laboratory specimens from the AHF ART Clinic to the National Reference Laboratory (NRL).
Transport laboratory results from the National Reference Laboratory to the clinic in a timely and confidential manner.
Transport staff and partners to designated destinations and back.
Maintain the vehicle logbook, request fuel, and account for all mileage, fuel consumption, and related costs.
Ensure that no unauthorized person drives the assigned vehicle.
Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle, including daily interior cleaning and a minimum of two car washes per week.
Keep the vehicle in good mechanical condition by checking oil, water, and other essential maintenance requirements.
Complete and submit weekly vehicle log sheets.
Report repair requirements promptly and arrange vehicle servicing through the Operations Officer.
Ensure the assigned vehicle is secured against loss or damage at all times.
Drive safely and responsibly while complying with all Lesotho traffic, road safety, and parking regulations.
Never operate the vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Observe the non-smoking policy in the vehicle at all times.
Do not make or receive phone calls while driving. The vehicle must first be parked safely before using a mobile phone.
Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Education and Experience

C.O.S.C. High School Certificate or Form E.
Valid Driver’s Licence (minimum Code 10) held for at least five (5) years.
Ability to read and write in English.
Ability to analyse and interpret common correspondence and communications.
Ability to communicate information clearly and effectively with team members.
Ability to provide support and cope, both physically and emotionally, when transporting critically ill patients.
