Driver Code 14

The Driver is responsible for safe and efficient operation of vehicles and transporting raw material/ products. The role ensures that materials are stored safely and readily available, supporting the plant’s operational needs while adhering to safety and organizational standards.

Qualifications:

• Matric certificate or equivalent
• Valid code 14 Drivers’ License
• Valid Professional Drivers Permit

Experience:

Two to five year’s previous work experience as a ready-mix truck driver will be advantageous, preferably in an industrial, manufacturing, or aggregates/crushing plant environment.

• Drive heavy duty trucks/vehicles to transport material/equipment to designated areas.
• Collect, verify, and follow directions from supervisors regarding the delivery area.
• Comply with all the rules and regulations regarding the operation of the truck/vehicle.
• Follow the correct loading and off-loading procedure.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections and submit to the manager/supervisor as required.
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance.
• Adhere to the company policies and procedures.
• Adhere to the Traffic Rules and Regulations
• Use the Daily Check List to Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment and the truck.
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist in maintenance of the truck as required.
• Cleaning of the truck on daily basis. Including the drum inside and outside to be free of any packed hard concrete
• Effective maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Preventative maintenance.
