Job description
About the Role
We are a Cape Town-based events business looking for a reliable, hardworking Driver who is also willing to get hands-on with event setup and breakdown. This is not a passive driving role — you will be an important part of our operations team, ensuring equipment, props and team members arrive on time and that venues are set up efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport event equipment, materials and personnel to and from venues across Cape Town and surrounding areas
- Assist with loading and unloading of vehicles
- Help with physical event setup and breakdown (tables, décor, equipment, etc.)
- Conduct basic vehicle safety checks and keep the vehicle clean and roadworthy
- Follow schedules and navigate Cape Town traffic efficiently
- Support the team with general logistics as needed
Requirements
- Valid South African driver’s licence (Code 8/EB preferred; Code 10 advantageous)
- Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) preferred
- Clean driving record and clear criminal record
- Physically able to assist with loading, unloading and event setup
- Good knowledge of Cape Town roads and routes
- Reliable, punctual and able to work flexible hours, including weekends and occasional early starts or late finishes
- Own transport to get to our base is a strong advantage
