SUMMARY: The Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and professional transportation services for guests, staff, and goods within a hospitality environment. This role ensures timely transfers, deliveries, and collections while maintaining company vehicles to the highest standards. The Driver serves as an ambassador for the establishment by delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring every journey is comfortable, safe, and enjoyable.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport guests to and from airports, lodges, hotels, attractions, and other designated locations.
• Conduct scheduled staff transport and shuttle services as required.
• Collect and deliver supplies, stock, equipment, and documentation.
• Assist guests with luggage during arrivals and departures.
• Provide a warm, professional, and courteous welcome to guests.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of all company vehicles.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
• Ensure vehicles are serviced according to scheduled maintenance plans.
• Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks, mileage records, and fuel usage reports.
• Adhere to all road traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures.
• Ensure guest safety and comfort throughout all journeys.
• Assist with loading and unloading goods when required.
• Support other operational departments during busy periods.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and transport schedules.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when interacting with guests.
• Assist with emergency transport requirements when necessary.

POSITION INFO: Minimum Qualifications Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent. Valid South African driver's licence with a Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) (essential). Valid First Aid Certificate (advantageous). Defensive Driving Certificate (advantageous). Experience Required Minimum of 2-3 years' driving experience within a hotel, lodge, resort, or hospitality environment. Experience transporting guests and providing exceptional customer service. Experience driving passenger vehicles, minibuses, or luxury transport vehicles. Familiarity with airport transfers and long-distance driving is advantageous. Knowledge & Skills Excellent knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws. Safe and defensive driving skills. Good geographical knowledge of local routes and attractions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong customer service and hospitality skills. Ability to remain calm under pressure. Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge. Good organisational and time management skills. Ability to complete vehicle inspection reports and logbooks accurately. Personal Attributes Friendly, professional, and well-presented. Own reliable transport to and from work (preferred). Willingness to work weekends, public holidays, early mornings, evenings, and split shifts. Ability to work in remote lodge environments if required. Physically fit and able to assist with luggage and loading\/unloading duties. Eligible to work in South Africa. Preferred Competencies Previous experience in a luxury lodge, hotel, or safari environment. Knowledge of local tourist attractions and points of interest. Experience driving 4x4 vehicles is advantageous. Basic mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle troubleshooting. Ability to communicate in additional languages is advantageous. Strong understanding of hospitality service standards and guest etiquette.
