Job description

ABOUT THE ROLE

TREE is seeking a reliable and experienced Driver to support the Kuyakhanya Project, based at Head Office in Durban. The role involves porridge and HomeKit deliveries, driving support, and vehicle maintenance. Regular travel to deep rural communities is required.

Contract: Fixed-term (1st of October 2026-30th of June 2027) | Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday (08:00–16:00; Working hours may vary due to travel requirements. Where work is required outside normal working hours, Time Off in Lieu (TOIL) will be provided in accordance with TREE’s policy.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

· Grade 12 / Matric.

· Valid Code 10 Driver’s Licence and PDP.

· Minimum 2 years’ driving experience.

· Good knowledge of road safety.

· Ability to load and offload goods safely.

· Willingness and ability to travel to deep rural communities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Collect porridge monthly from storage facilities and distribute to 61 CPF sites.

· Deliver HomeKits and other project materials safely and on time.

· Obtain signed delivery documentation.

· Provide driving support to Kuyakhanya and other TREE departments.

· Safely load, secure, transport and offload goods.

· Complete monthly timesheets accurately and on time.

· Conduct vehicle inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness and roadworthiness.

· Monitor servicing, licence disc and vehicle documentation.

· Report faults, damage and maintenance requirements promptly.

· Comply with traffic laws and TREE policies.

· Maintain professional relationships with staff, CPFs and stakeholders.
