Basic Salary: R10, 500 per month

Relocation: Must be willing to relocate to Upington, Northern Cape

JOB OVERVIEW

A private client based in Upington is seeking a disciplined, professional, and vigilant Driver / Security Escort to provide secure transportation and protective support to the client and their family.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the client and family safely and punctually, while also maintaining a protective security presence.

This role requires absolute discretion, reliability, situational awareness, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. The candidate must have their own reliable vehicle, a valid firearm, and the necessary driving and security training.

The candidate must also be willing to relocate to Upington.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Provide safe, punctual, and professional transportation for the client and family.

· Perform school runs, appointments, business trips, airport transfers, and other travel as required.

· Provide close protection support while accompanying the client and family.

· Monitor surroundings, identify potential threats, and maintain constant situational awareness.

· Plan safe routes and conduct basic route reconnaissance where necessary. · Conduct basic threat and risk assessments for destinations.

· Ensure the vehicle is clean, fuelled, roadworthy, and mechanically sound. · Maintain absolute confidentiality regarding the client’s movements, personal life, and business matters.

· Be available for standby, evenings, weekends, and occasional travel when required.

· Maintain a professional appearance and demeanour at all times.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (NON-NEGOTIABLE)

· Own Vehicle: Must have a reliable, roadworthy vehicle.

Firearm: Must have a valid firearm licensed in your name and valid SAPS competency.

· Driver’s License: Valid South African Code EB or higher, held for at least 5 years.

· PrDP: Valid Professional Driving Permit.

· PSIRA Registration: Must be actively registered with PSIRA. Grade C or higher required. Grade B or A advantageous.

· Security Training: SASSETA-accredited General Security Practices (Grade C or higher) or equivalent security training.

· Advanced Driving Training: Defensive, advanced, or evasive driving certification.

· Clean Criminal Record: No criminal history. Successful candidates will be vetted.

· Relocation: Must be willing and able to relocate to Upington, Northern Cape, at own cost.

· Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit and in good health.

· Flexibility: Must be available for flexible hours, standby, weekends, and occasional travel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

· Previous experience in VIP protection, executive protection, military, or law enforcement.

· Close protection support or VIP protection assistant training advantageous.

· First Aid Level 3 or higher.

· Strong knowledge of Upington and the surrounding Northern Cape area.

· SAPS Business Purposes firearm competency where legally required.

· Excellent conflict de-escalation and communication skills.

· Ability to work independently with discipline and minimal supervision.

· High level of emotional intelligence and professionalism.

REMUNERATION

· Basic Salary: R10,500 per month.

· Allowances: Negotiable allowances may be considered for fuel, vehicle wear-and-tear, and firearm-related expenses.

· Relocation Assistance: Not provided. Candidate must relocate at own cost.
