Duty Manager

Ba-Phalaborwa Golf Club is looking for a professional, hands-on and service-driven Duty Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure a high standard of service across the property.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the golf club and related facilities.
• Ensure smooth and efficient operations across departments during assigned shifts.
• Supervise and support staff to ensure service standards and operational requirements are met.
• Monitor guest and member satisfaction and handle queries or complaints professionally.
• Coordinate with relevant departments to resolve operational issues.
• Conduct regular checks of facilities, cleanliness, presentation and service standards.
• Assist with managing busy periods, events, golf days and special functions.
• Ensure that opening and closing procedures are followed correctly.
• Monitor adherence to company policies, procedures, health and safety standards.
• Assist with staff allocation and ensure adequate operational coverage.
• Complete shift reports, handovers and other required operational documentation.
• Identify operational issues and escalate matters to management when necessary.
• Assist with stock, equipment and facility checks where required.
• Support management with general administrative and operational duties.

REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within hospitality, golf, leisure or a similar environment.
• Experience overseeing day-to-day operations and staff.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Good organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Good administrative and computer skills.
• High level of professionalism and attention to detail.
• Ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as required.
• Knowledge of golf club or hospitality operations will be advantageous.
