Job description
About Us
We're OneNightOnly, South Africa's online sex toy and accessories specialist. We believe a healthy sex life is part of a healthy lifestyle, and we’re committed to offering high-quality products at affordable prices.
A safe, discreet online shopping experience, OneNightOnly is designed to help our customers embrace their sexuality without leaving their comfort zones.
Why does our logo remind you of OneDayOnly you ask?
Because we're related. In fact, OneDayOnly owns OneNightOnly. We sell sex toys on
OneDayOnly.co.za
from time to time, but we find we can't run them often enough to meet demand. So, we decided to try running a "normal" shop - as opposed to one-day deals - to fully satisfy SA's need for quality sex toys any day of the week!
About You
You're a recent grad or early-career e-commerce enthusiast who looks harmless but is secretly the type to alphabetise a spice rack. Wedding planners call you for organising tips. You're commercially nosy in the best way, and you actually want to own the messy, unglamorous stuff, not just watch from the sidelines.
You'll be the merchandising engine room for our online store, sourcing product, building listings, keeping the site looking slick, wrangling inventory, running promos, and taming reports and admin into submission. Bonus rounds: returns, product detective work, and the odd customer service curveball.
Responsibilities:
Product & Merchandising
- Product Sourcing & Buying Support: Identify and evaluate new product and supplier opportunities, prepare recommendations and support range expansion in line with the merchandising strategy.
- Supplier Coordination: Maintain day-to-day supplier communication, source product information and assets, follow up on orders and support supplier administration. Assist with commercial negotiations as required.
- Product Management: Create, update and maintain accurate product listings, including descriptions, images, pricing, product attributes and categorisation, while adhering to agreed listing standards.
- SEO & Content: Upload and optimize product pages for SEO & AI, ensuring content is accurate, complete and aligned with agreed SEO/AEO best practices.
- Website Merchandising & QA: Maintain accurate product, pricing, promotional and merchandising information across the website; audit product pages and collections for errors and resolve issues promptly.
- Inventory & Replenishment: Monitor inventory and sales data, identify stock risks and replenishment requirements, and prepare ordering recommendations to maintain healthy product availability.
- Product Promotions: Support weekly deals, campaigns, launches and clearance activity by preparing product recommendations and executing approved merchandising and promotional changes.
- Reporting & Analysis: Maintain recurring product, category, supplier and inventory reporting; identify trends, exceptions and opportunities requiring management attention.
- Trends & Research: Conduct product, competitor and market research to identify opportunities and help keep ONO at the forefront of the adult wellness revolution.
- Imports & Logistics Support: Assist with import orders, shipment administration, international supplier communication and customs documentation where required.
- Graphic Design: Basic Canva or similar design capability is highly beneficial for product imagery and simple merchandising assets.
Operations Support
- Returns & Product Assessments: Receive and physically assess returned or faulty products, document findings and coordinate the appropriate refund, replacement, exchange or supplier resolution in line with company policy.
- Customer Service Support: Assist the CS team with product, stock, courier and customer queries, and resolve merchandising-related escalations promptly and accurately.
- Customer Feedback: Capture recurring product complaints, quality issues and customer feedback, identify patterns and escalate material trends for corrective action or supplier follow-up.
- Operational Admin: Assist with stock discrepancies, courier claims, collections, deliveries, stocktakes and other day-to-day ecommerce administration as required.
- Project & Process Support: Maintain assigned tasks, trackers and SOPs, provide progress updates and support the Ecommerce Manager and Operations/Project Management function with implementation of merchandising and ecommerce initiatives.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, ecommerce or a related field.
- Experience in ecommerce, retail, merchandising or a similar environment is advantageous.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Strong copywriting, written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organised, process-driven and able to prioritise multiple recurring workflows and deadlines.
- Strong analytical ability with confidence working with product, sales and inventory data.
- Proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite; strong Excel or Google Sheets skills are highly desirable.
- Previous experience with Shopify and inventory management or forecasting software is advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of SEO, digital merchandising and ecommerce best practices is a plus.
- Basic Canva or photo-editing capability is beneficial.
- Comfortable working professionally with adult wellness products, terminology, customer queries and returned products.
- Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn, solve problems and grow into ownership of the merchandising function.
Values:
- Challenge Accepted: We chase ambitious sales targets, own our numbers, and celebrate wins while continuously raising the bar.
- Solve Smart: We identify opportunities in the E-commerce space and use creativity and strategy to close deals effectively.
- Character Counts: We build trust with honesty, integrity, and respect in every interaction with suppliers, turning relationships into long-term partnerships.
- Customer Obsessed: We ensure customers get the top brands they love with quality and value, delivering excellence every time.
- Seriously Unserious: We bring energy, enthusiasm and humour to team interactions, keeping work fun while achieving results.
