Earth Moving Diesel Mechanic

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To perform minor and major repairs on plants.
• Repair or replace malfunctioning components, parts, and other mechanical or electrical equipment’s.
• Conduct regular preventative maintenance service on plants.
• Perform regular diagnostic on the plant.
• Maintain accurate record of each repair performed on plants.
• Routine maintenance, such as changing oil, checking batteries completed.
• Report any major maintenance repairs as per the required procedures.
• Potential health and safety risks must be reported to management.
• All incidents, including near misses must be reported to management
• Adhere to health and safety requirements as per legislation and in accordance with Raumix HSE policy.
• Monitor and assess hazardous and unsafe situations on-site or in a working environment.
• Maintaining detailed records of service and maintenance job cards schedules
• Act in a customer centric manner that is in line with the company’s values
• Meet and exceed the requirements of internal and external customers
• To ensure that all the relevant pre-start checklists are carried out by the relevant operator on a daily basis

QUALIFYING CRITERIA:

• Red Seal (Trade Tested: Earth moving Diesel Mechanic)
• Experience in the maintenance or production environment
• Hands-on working experience in a maintenance environment is essential
• Experience in hydraulic & Pneumatic systems
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be fully Computer literate (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook)
• Must have strong proven administrative skills
• Knowledgeable on basic Mine Health & Safety Act
• Communication skills- both written and verbal
• Technical problem-solving ability
