【Key Responsibilities】

Maintenance, Service and Repair

• Maintain, service, inspect, diagnose, and repair LiuGong earthmoving and mining equipment in accordance with OEM standards, mine specifications, and sound engineering practice.
• Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on machines including breakdowns, field repairs, component change-outs, and major services.
• Remove, repair, replace, reassemble, and test diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, differentials, drivelines, brakes, steering systems, suspension systems, and related components.
• Conduct fault finding on hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems to identify root causes and implement effective corrective action.
• Perform machine over-inspections and ensure equipment returned to service is safe, reliable, and compliant.

Breakdown Management and Field Support

• Attend to defects raised from pre-start reports, operator reports, breakdown reports, and over-inspection findings.
• Provide breakdown support and troubleshoot machine failures promptly to minimize equipment downtime.
• Record breakdown events, actions taken, parts used, and recommendations for follow-up.
• Escalate repeat failures, abnormal machine conditions, and unresolved issues to the supervisor and technical support team.

Inspection and Technical Reporting

• Perform inspections in accordance with the Mine Health and Safety Act, site procedures, OEM standards, and company requirements.
• Introduce and maintain accurate service history records, job cards, inspection sheets, and maintenance documentation.
• Provide relevant technical feedback to supervisors and management on equipment condition, machine performance, failure trends, and maintenance backlog.
• Support defect elimination by identifying recurring issues and recommending permanent corrective actions.

Planning and Resource Coordination

• Plan and schedule work activities with the supervisor in line with machine priorities, maintenance plans, and site production requirements.
• Identify spares, tools, consumables, and labour requirements for planned work and breakdown jobs.
• Assist in ordering and controlling spare parts and ensuring proper usage of workshop and field service tools.
• Support efficient task execution through proper prioritisation, housekeeping, and resource management.

Quality, Compliance and Safety

• Ensure all work is completed to a high quality standard with safe and reliable workmanship.
• Adhere to all mine site safety rules, company procedures, lock-out procedures, and OEM maintenance practices.
• Maintain clean work areas, service vehicles, tooling, and equipment.
• Participate in risk assessments, toolbox talks, safety inspections, and incident reporting processes.
• Ensure full compliance with customer safety requirements and legal standards applicable to mining operations.

Customer and Team Support

• Represent LiuGong professionally on customer sites and maintain strong working relationships with mine maintenance teams, operators, and supervisors.
• Provide technical guidance and feedback to apprentices, assistants, and operators where appropriate.
• Support the wider LiuGong field service and support team in delivering OEM-standard customer service and uptime performance.
• Be prepared to rotate between workshop, field service, component repair, and site support responsibilities where required.

【Requirements】

• Grade 12 / Matric certificate
• Recognised Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic / Diesel Mechanic Trade Test Certificate
• Valid driver’s licence, minimum Code 8
• Valid medical certificate of fitness / Red Ticket for mine site access, or ability to obtain one
• Minimum 5 years’ post-trade experience on earthmoving equipment, with at least:
• 3 years’ experience in mining contracting or OEM field service , preferably in a TMM environment
• Experience supporting heavy earthmoving or mining equipment on customer sites
• Strong experience in the maintenance and repair of diesel-powered earthmoving machines
• Experience with hydraulic fault finding and component replacement
• Basic computer literacy for job cards, reports, service records, and parts systems
