Job description
EMPA Structures is a Cape Town based subsidiary of the Raubex Group, that specialize in the construction and rehabilitation of reinforced concrete structures. We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated & result-oriented mechanic.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
- N2 Qualification
- Must be qualified and hold a Trade Certificate (Earthmoving/Diesel)
- Minimum of 3 years post-trade experience in a similar environment
- Experience in excavators, TLB’s, loadalls, and trucks
- Must has experience with concrete pumps
- Geotechnical drilling equipment a plus
- Proven track record with the required technical skillset
- Able to work unsupervised
- Proficient in English and Afrikaans
- Valid Driver’s Licence
- Lots of travelling as this is a field position
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with clients, staff, and management
- No criminal record
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Ensure that all the relevant pre-start checklists are carried out by all relevant operators daily.
- Ensure that all relevant maintenance procedures are adhered to.
- Monitor equipment availability daily.
- Carry out service and repairs on the respective plant items.
- Diagnose problems from electrical, hydraulic schematics.
- Minimise plant downtime and treat it as a matter of urgency.
- Ensuring that the Company’s preventative maintenance systems are adhered to.
- Ensure maintenance work meets OSH legal compliance and standards.
