E-COMMERCE OPERATIONS ASSISTANT

Location: Sandton, Gauteng

Position Type: Full-Time

Working Hours: 45 Hours Per Week

• Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Saturday: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Remuneration:
• R6,000 Basic Salary*(take home)

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for an energetic, detail-oriented individual to join our growing retail e-commerce business specialising in household and kitchen products. Working collaboratively within a supportive operational team, the successful candidate will split their time between digital catalogue management and hands-on warehouse operations, assisting with product listings and order fulfilment across major South African platforms including Takealot, Makro, Leroy Merlin, and Amazon.

This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in a team-based environment, is comfortable balancing administrative computer work with physical warehouse tasks, and wants to grow within a fast-moving retail setting.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Catalogue Management & Listings: Collaborate with the team to create, update, and manage product listings and catalogues across Takealot, Makro, Leroy Merlin, and Amazon Seller Central.
• Content & Data Accuracy: Ensure all product titles, descriptions, pricing, and stock information remain accurate and synchronized across all sales channels.
• Order Processing & Fulfilment: Work alongside team members to process incoming customer orders efficiently across all online platforms.
• Packing & Dispatch: Help prepare customer orders for shipment, carefully package houseware and cleaning tool merchandise to minimise transit damage, and verify order accuracy before dispatch.
• Inventory & Warehouse Support: Participate in team stock control, routine stock counts, and keeping the warehouse storage areas neat, organised, and safe (including lifting and handling stock boxes).
• Courier Coordination: Share responsibilities for arranging collections with courier companies, monitoring shipment progress, and following up on delivery matters.
• Digital Content: Assist the team in designing simple marketing graphics, promotional banners, and product visuals using Canva when needed.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Practical experience working with online marketplaces (such as Takealot, Makro, Leroy Merlin, or Amazon).
• Experience with listing creation and product catalogue management.
• Willingness and physical ability to handle both computer-based administrative work and hands-on warehouse tasks (including standing, packing, and lifting stock).
• Comfortable working closely within a team while managing independent tasks.
• Comfortable using Excel, email, and web-based systems.
• Basic experience with Canva or similar graphic design tools.
• Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail.
• Must be based in Gauteng, have reliable transport to Sandton, and be able to commit to the required schedule (including Saturday shifts).
