Education Specialist: Technology, Engineering Graphics and Design

Optimi is currently seeking a well-organised individual with a people-oriented approach to join our team as an Education Specialist for Technology 7-9 and Engineering Graphics and Design Grades 10-12. The ideal candidate should have a positive outlook, be adaptable to change and excel as a team player with exceptional communication skills. It is essential that the candidate have an in-depth understanding of all CAPS requirements and can critically evaluate content within the subject field.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor of Education Degree/Diploma or PGCE (preferable).
• Honours or Postgraduate qualification (advantageous).
• 5+ years teaching experience in the FET Phase, with a minimum of 3 years teaching Grade 12.
• Computer literacy (essential): MS suite with extended apps.
• Proficiency in TurboCAD (advantageous).
• Proficiency in Afrikaans and English language.
• SACE registered.
• Stable internet with power backup.
• Extensive subject knowledge and good teaching and assessment skills.

DUTIES

• Apply and monitor the application of CAPS and the assessment requirements of the examination board.
• Ensure quality assurance of academic content, external developers and moderators.
• Moderate or set assessment tasks in specific areas of expertise and/or related fields.
• Develop or facilitate the design of assessment instructions and guidelines according to the unique needs of education clients.
• Plan, support and/or present academic-related webinars, guidance sessions and memorandum discussions.
• Collaborate with Impaq Online School educators and relevant academic stakeholders to provide effective academic support.
• Provide academic feedback and support to suit the unique needs of learners and clients.
• Develop, review and maintain academic support materials and subject-specific content on the Optimi Learning Portal.
• Manage subject-related administration, stakeholder queries, deadlines, risks and external contractors where applicable.
• Research and implement relevant trends, products and technologies within the allocated subject field.

The position is based in Centurion.
