Job description

Why do we need you?

  • Work on all electrical operations of machinery to maximize production outputs
  • Ensure speedy repair of all breakdowns by providing easy fault-finding facility
  • Adhere to planned maintenance schedules
  • Ensure 100% safety devices operations.
  • Ensure all protection settings are maintained
  • Do fault finding on VSDs, electronic cards and other mechatronic devices
  • Ensure machines are maintained to a high standard
  • Source latest electrical spare to improve MTTR and MTBF
  • Perform daily all WCM tasks assigned to you
  • Work on mechanical breakdowns trouble shooting to assist fitters with further root cause analysis
  • Follow all reasonable instructions given from foreman
  • Complete plant inspection procedures according to the SAP plant maintenance system
  • Assist with production problems if and when necessary
  • Obey Saint-Gobain and Factory Safety regulations
  • Obey OHSAS safety regulations and observe safety precautions as laid down in the applicable legislation
  • Reporting of safety incidents and non-conformities to Engineering Manager.
  • Ensure adherence to general Factory regulations.
  • To inspect all sections of the plant frequently and to assess demands that will be made in the C&I department, to action plans accordingly.

Is this job for you?

The ideal candidate must have a completed Matric with a relevant trade qualification (Control & Instrumentation) or candidates can possess a completed N6 or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

To make sure nothing is forgotten

The purpose of the role is to ensure that the production machines used are always maintained to prevent breakdowns due to lack of electrical maintenance. Optimise production lines and utilities.
