The Role

We are looking for a Manufacturing Team Lead for our electrical automation workshop. This is a hands-on role: about 70% of your time will be spent on the tools, building electrical panels, automation systems and products, testing them and making them better. The other 30% is keeping the workshop aligned: the job list, the schedule and making sure parts arrive on time.

This role is about ownership. What leaves our workshop is yours: its quality, its timing and how it performs on site. If you would rather build than sit behind a desk, but you can also keep a workshop organised, we want to hear from you.

On the Tools (about 70%)

• Build electrical panels, DB boards, control systems and automation products from drawings and BOMs.
• Wire, assemble and test equipment alongside the team, and set the standard on workmanship.
• Review electrical drawings and QC builds against our standards and applicable regulations before sign-off.
• QC and test every product before it leaves the workshop, and keep the records.
• Log failures, find the root cause and make sure the fix goes into the next build.
• Take feedback from the site team on installs and failures, and turn it into product and process improvements.

Keeping It Aligned (about 30%)

• Run the job list: set priorities, allocate work to the team and track progress against project deadlines.
• Check BOMs against stock ahead of each job and flag shortfalls early.
• Submit stock requests to procurement with enough lead time, and follow up so parts arrive on time.
• Keep the workshop safe, clean and organised.

Who We’re Looking For

• Ideally, you are an electrician, millwright or electrical engineer who has been building electrical panels and systems and knows electrical drawings inside out. If you come from the drawing side but are genuinely happy to get hands-on, we would also like to hear from you.
• A qualified electrician, millwright or electrical engineer (or equivalent trade experience).
• Proven experience building electrical panels, control systems or automation equipment.
• Strong ability to read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams and check them against a standard.
• Happy to get involved mechanically and in general production, not only the electrical work.
• Organised enough to run a job list, with good computer literacy (spreadsheets, email, job tools).
• A valid driver's licence and own transport.
