Electrical Product Manager

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BEng/BTech or equivalent)

Requirements

Valid driver's licence

Role and Respponsibilities

Develop Electrical opportunities with Clients through Sales reps

• Support Sales in achieving the annual Electrical turnover and margin target
• Identify opportunities in key Electrical focus areas of; LV switchgear, Motor control, Power quality assessments, Power Factor correction, Surge protection & earthing, Electrical Distribution boards, Power Management, Acoustic and thermal imaging audits and back-up power (UPS & generators)
• Work with Sales to identify, scope and support conversion of electrical opportunities across Industrial and Commercial markets
• Act quickly to develop designs, specifications and proposals to increase the likelihood of winning the enquiry, with proposal turnaround in line with agreed timing
• Join Sales representatives on joint site visits and attend customer roadshows where your technical input will help convert or grow an opportunity
• Develop designs and specifications that maximise benefit and value for the Client
• Engineer designs and specifications to minimise cost and maximise the benefit required, within Magnet's preferred product strategy — particularly across the Industrial Control & Automation product group (e.g. Schneider, Eaton, Siemens, Telemechanique)
• Work with Procurement and suppliers/OEMs to secure best pricing, lead times and product availability- Tailor designs and specifications to client needs and constraints
• Prepare your own designs and proposals to a standard that is accurate, technically sound and ready for submission
• Be Sales' direct technical resource on key brands
• Maintain deep, current product and brand knowledge across Magnet's key Industrial Control & Automation brands, and the ability to bridge brand capability to customer need
• Act as the first point of technical contact for Sales — answering product and application questions quickly so opportunities aren't held up
• Deliver regular product training and updates to the Sales team so they can confidently position and sell the right product for the application
• Maintain working relationships with key brand/OEM representatives to stay current on new products, pricing and technical developments
• Ensure designs and specifications are practical, compliant and executable by contractors
• Ensure contractor installation expectations are clearly defined during handover, with drawings, BOQs, specifications and product assumptions complete before submission
• Provide technical support on site and design issues, and attend site when required to clarify design and support installation
• Provide technical input on design changes, site deviations and variation requirements for opportunities you specified
• Support after-sales and warranty resolution on your proposals through to close-out, capturing lessons learned for future improvement

Support the development and execution of the business electrical strategy.

• Standardise Electrical design methodologies, specifications and approved product ranges nationally, across all branches.
• Implement technical governance through design reviews, specification control and compliance checks.
• Maintain preferred supplier, OEM, contractor, panel builder and installer relationships for Electrical nationally.
• Support a structured product training plan for core Electrical brands (e.g. Schneider, Eaton, Siemens, Tele), so technical and sales teams nationally can confidently advise on the right product for the application.
• Provide technical support to ensure consistent Electrical design quality and implementation across all branches, not only the home branch.

Integrated Management System (IMS)

• The incumbent is responsible for supporting the effective implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of the Company's Integrated Management System (IMS).
• This includes ensuring that applicable policies, procedures and work instructions are communicated, understood and implemented within their area of responsibility; promoting compliance with quality, health, safety and environmental requirements

Work Location: In person
