Job description
Requirements:
- Grade 12 or Relevant Qualification.
- 2-3 years’ experience as an electrician.
- Strong working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, conduit benders, and electrical test meters.
- Solid understanding of circuit load calculations and grounding principles.
- Problem-solving ability, physical stamina, and reliable time management.
Responsibilities:
- Pull cable, install conduits, set up breaker panels, and wire rooms, light fixtures, outlets, switches, and service drops for new builds or renovations.
- Perform initial rough-in wiring through wall studs and ceiling joists, followed by final device installations once walls are finished.
- Diagnose tripped breakers, power losses, flickering lights, or faulty circuits.
- Assist with electrical maintenance, fault finding and repairs under appropriate supervision.
- Replace old or unsafe wiring (such as knob-and-tube or degraded aluminum), upgrade main distribution panels.
- Ensure all residential work meets local electrical codes, safety standards, and municipal inspection requirements.
