Job description
County Fair, a division of Astral Operations Limited has this opportunity for an Electrician based at the Further Processing Plant in Epping II.
The purpose of this role is to ensure compliance and maintenance of all electrical equipment for the site in accordance with the SANS 10142 wiring code and all other compliance requirements by law.
Qualifications and experience required:
- Must be a qualified Electrician (Red Seal)
- A 3-Phase Wiremen’s License is critical
- At least a N4 theoretical Electrical Certificate
- Previous experience in the electrical maintenance/repair of Poultry processing plant equipment will be a distinct advantage
- Must be a team player
- Willing to do shift work/weekend/public holidays and overtime if required
- Fluent in English and an additional official language
- Ability to work in a highly pressurized environment and deadline driven
- Must have own reliable transport
Skills and other requirements:
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work under pressure and swift resolution of breakdowns and electrical issues
- Must be able to work independently and cope well under pressure;
- It is essential that the successful candidate be self-motivated with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
The ideal incumbent will be responsible for:
- Maintenance and compliance with the South African National Standard, SANS 10142, wiring code
- Ensuring that risk control standards are maintained
- Compliance with the 20 Keys program, HACCP, Risk control, OHS Act, EFIS and all other audit requirements in the processing plant and site must be adhered to at all times
- The Electrician must be present at start up and all start up procedures must be followed
- Ensuring that all shut down procedures are adhered to after the end of the last shift of the week or before public holidays
- To liaise with management regarding outstanding maintenance, projects, time keeping, safety matters, security and all other matters that is related to the maintenance team
- Routine maintenance on processing equipment
- Dealing with all unscheduled processing interruptions resulting from breakdowns
- Installation and maintenance of processing equipment
- Manage all resources to the maximum benefit of the company
- Maintain all housekeeping standards
