SUMMARY: Utilities Electrician POSITION INFO: Job Title: Utilities Electrician Location: Heidelburg Reporting to: Operations The job holder will be responsible for the overall operations and maintenance of the electrical utilities plants to ensure reliability and efficiency on shift, participate in site projects, support production and facilities department with any electrical requirement. The incumbent will work closely with third party utilities service provider and operators. Duties and Responsibilities: Attend to any plant breakdown that occurs during the shifts and the entire plant. Carrying out planned maintenance inspections and preventive maintenance. Assist Process Lead and Utilities to manage Electrical Network\/reticulation. Ensure electrical plant availability is > 95%. Actively participate on the Utilities Shutdowns by providing detailed electrical scope. Propose innovation and ideas to ensure continuous improvement that would improve performance and productivity. Ensure Environmental, Health and Safety policy and procedures are followed to provide a safe working environment. Support production areas for any electrical request or trips in a timeous and effective manner to minimize loss in production. Install and commission up-grades on equipment when requested on special projects, major breakdowns and overhauls. Ensure good housekeeping in engineering workshop and assigned area of responsibility including the cleaning of electrical control panels and switchboards. Carry out PM maintenance schedules for MV and LV substation and DB boards. Implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize breakdowns and ensure machine availability and high operational efficiencies. Attend to Utilities breakdown\/equipment stops in the shortest possible time in order to minimize disruption to production and keep history of the machine performance. Conduct Utilities plant monitoring every three hours and capture and analyze data onto the PIMPS and POMPS logbook. Report and advise Process Lead on the plant condition for the factory. Support machinery installations in Manufacturing. Ensure all machines are safe to operate and properly maintained. Inform Utilities management on any unusual \/ abnormal occurrences on the machines. Ensure logbooks are properly recorded for every significant work done. Actively participate in departmental projects from initiation, planning, execution and commissioning. Champion IWS by proposing and implementing agreed changes and improvements that deliver better productivity, higher efficiency and improved safety. Essential Experience, Skills and Knowledge: Minimum of 3 years' experience working with Utility Equipment (Power Generation, Air Compression, Steam Boilers, Water\/Oil, Pumping Stations, Cogen Plant, Water Treatment, transformers, Switchgears, Motors, cables, Vacuum Systems, HVAC Systems), of which at least two has been spent at an FMCG MV Switching Certificate as for the Operating Regulation (ORHVS) for High Voltage System. N4 Electrical Engineering and Electrical Trade Test At least 3 years' experience working with Medium Voltage (MV) Electrical System in a similar position in a manufacturing environment. Good communication, team player, result orientated, flexible and resilient, technical problem solving, Good analytical ability Ability to read and apply electrical drawings. Ability to draft spare parts and consumables list for equipment maintenance Basic Knowledge of Costing is required.
