About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Red Seal Electrician with 2–5 years of hands-on installation experience to join our technical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for electrical installations, wiring, fault finding, maintenance, and commissioning across residential, commercial, and industrial sites.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in electrical systems, a solid understanding of safety standards, and proven experience in executing high-quality electrical installations in line with SANS regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform electrical installations, wiring, and connections for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
• Install distribution boards, conduits, cabling, lighting systems, and related electrical infrastructure.
• Interpret and work from electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Conduct fault finding, diagnostics, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
• Ensure all installations comply with applicable electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations (SANS/NRS).
• Carry out testing, inspection, and commissioning of electrical systems.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical installations.
• Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and materials during installations.
• Maintain accurate job records, reports, and completion documentation.
• Collaborate with site supervisors, engineers, and project teams to ensure timely project delivery.
• Adhere strictly to health and safety standards and report any hazards or incidents.
• Provide technical support during project execution and site inspections.

Minimum Requirements

• Red Seal Electrician Certification (mandatory).
• 2–5 years proven experience in electrical installation work.
• National Certificate or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Trade.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring methods, and installation practices.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Familiarity with SANS electrical standards and occupational health & safety regulations.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites when required.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in commercial and industrial electrical installations.
• Exposure to solar PV or backup power systems (advantageous).
• Experience with maintenance planning and electrical inspections.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
• Basic understanding of project coordination or site supervision.
