Part-Time Vacancy: Registered EEG Technician / Clinical Technologist (Neurophysiology)

About the Role NuAlpha Neurophysiology is seeking a qualified, detailed-oriented, and independent EEG Technician (or Clinical Technologist in Neurophysiology) to join our practice on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting high-quality electroencephalographic (EEG) recordings, patient preparation, and basic clinical documentation across routine clinical settings.

Core Responsibilities Perform routine, sleep-deprived, and ambulatory EEG procedures in compliance with standard clinical protocol. Measure and place electrodes accurately using the international 10–20 system. Obtain concise patient histories, manage patient orientation, and ensure patient comfort and safety during recordings. Maintain strict quality control of recordings and prepare technical data for neurophysiologist/physician review. Manage mobile/outreach equipment transport and setup where required.

Minimum Requirements Professional Registration & Qualifications: Active registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an EEG Technician or Clinical Technologist (Neurophysiology). Proof of current HPCSA annual registration.

Language Skills: Must be fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans (spoken and written) to facilitate clear patient communication, history taking, and clinical reporting.

Mobility & Logistics: Valid driver’s license. Must own a reliable personal vehicle for travel between clinical sites, hospitals, or patient calls as required by the practice.

Clinical Competencies: Strong technical knowledge of EEG instrumentation, artifact identification, and montage adjustments. High level of professionalism, ethical conduct, and patient care standards.
