Are you an Employee Relations professional who enjoys supporting leaders and colleagues through people matters with fairness, confidence and a practical approach? A bit more about the Opportunity...: What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like:

  • Manage employee relations cases, ensuring matters are handled fairly, consistently and in line with employment legislation, company policy and business requirements.
  • Provide practical guidance and support to leaders on conduct, grievance, absence, disciplinary and other people-related matters.
  • Coach and guide stakeholders to make confident, balanced decisions that consider colleague experience, business requirements and risk.
  • Drive consistency in how ER matters are managed across the business, ensuring leaders apply policies, processes and decision-making principles in a fair, robust and commercially aligned way.
  • Support fair and timely resolution of employee relations issues through effective case management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Support restructuring, retrenchment and organisational change processes, including consultation preparation, stakeholder guidance, documentation and risk management.
  • Maintain accurate case documentation and administration, ensuring quality, consistency and compliance standards are met.
  • Apply employment law knowledge and company policies to support compliant, practical and commercially appropriate outcomes.
  • Provide support on escalated and externally referred matters, including CCMA processes, Labour Court-related preparation, case file quality, evidence gathering and liaison with internal or external legal support where required.
  • Build trusted working relationships with colleagues and leaders through clear communication, professionalism and credibility.
  • Manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail, quality and service standards.
  • Work collaboratively with People colleagues and operational leaders to improve attendance, retention and overall colleague experience.
  • Use ER data, case trends and lessons learned to recommend improvements to policies, processes, templates, coaching and governance frameworks.

You're an experienced Employee Relations professional who can build strong relationships, communicate effectively and provide practical support that helps leaders manage people matters confidently and fairly.

At your core, you're passionate about achieving balanced outcomes for colleagues and the business. You bring sound judgement, strong organisational skills and a pragmatic approach to resolving issues while maintaining compliance, reducing risk and improving the consistency and maturity of ER practice across the organisation.

Key measures of success will include case resolution effectiveness, ER compliance and governance, consistency of outcomes, continuous improvement delivery, successful support of restructuring or retrenchment activity, CCMA and Labour Court risk management, retention and attendance improvement, and stakeholder satisfaction.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Employee Relations, HR or a related People discipline.
  • Experience supporting conduct, grievance, absence and disciplinary processes.
  • Good understanding of employment legislation, ER processes and HR policies.
  • Sound knowledge of South African labour legislation and practical experience supporting restructuring, retrenchment and organisational change processes.
  • Exposure to CCMA matters, Labour Court-related preparation, arbitration or conciliation processes, and working with legal partners would be advantageous.
  • Experience coaching and influencing stakeholders to achieve fair and consistent outcomes.
  • Ability to manage multiple employee relations cases effectively within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building and problem-solving skills.
  • Good commercial understanding and the ability to balance colleague and business needs.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify trends, strengthen controls and improve ER processes, templates and leader capability.
  • BPO, contact centre or multi-site experience would be advantageous.
