Metals& Mining

EMV Mechanic (Paterson Band CL X1)

Purpose

Diagnoses, maintains, repairs, and services all Company CAT machines and support vehicles in order to ensure smooth operations.

Main Outputs and Responsibilities

Diagnoses, repairs, overhauls, and services CAT machines and support vehicles.
Compile Service Information System (SIS) reports and submit them to the supervisor for signature.
Perform preventative maintenance, daily maintenance, and backlog repairs as per schedule.
Replace major components within OEM timeframes and ensure quality control on all repairs.
Carry out SOS sampling as per scheduled services and required feedback.
Attend to breakdowns and emergency calls for repairs and services.
Supply appropriate records of services, repairs, and maintenance as per job cards.

Qualification And Experience Required

Trade Test Certificate in CAT Diesel Mechanic.
Automotive Certificate.
Must have five (5) years’ experience in a mechanical position.
CAT Machines experience.
Driving Licence (at least Code C).
Auto Electrical Certificate will be an added advantage.

Required Skills And Competencies

Knowledge of theory and complexities of automotive systems.
Knowledge of pneumatics and diagnostic procedures.
Ability to read hydraulic and electric diagrams together with their symbols.
Analytical, deadline-driven, and technically skilled with the ability to work under pressure.
