About the Opportunity

BAC South Africa is seeking a motivated Sales Project Engineer Intern to join our Engineering and Sales team - located in Germiston Johannesburg

Ideal for a recent engineering graduate, this role offers hands-on experience in technical sales, applications engineering, and project support, while providing exposure to a range of industries, technologies, and customer solutions within a global engineering business.

Internship duration is 12 months.

Overall Purpose

The Intern will support the Engineering and Sales team by assisting with technical evaluations, equipment selections, solution development, tender preparation, and customer support activities.

The role provides an opportunity to apply engineering knowledge in a practical business environment while developing an understanding of BAC products, technologies, customers, and sales processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical and application support for customer enquiries and projects.
• Assist with equipment selections, engineered solutions, technical proposals, tenders, quotes and project documentation.
• Support customer meetings, site visits, and technical evaluations while working alongside experienced engineers.
• Learn and apply BAC products, technologies, engineering processes, and selection tools.
• Contribute to project coordination, continuous improvement initiatives, and the delivery of quality customer solutions.
• Build positive working relationships and demonstrate BAC's values of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
• Take ownership of your learning and development throughout the internship.

Profile

Minimum Requirements (Qualifications, Skills and Attributes)

• BEng, BSc Eng, BTech, National Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Positive attitude, initiative, and eagerness to learn
• Professional, customer-focused, and relationship-oriented
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; exposure to CAD or engineering software would be advantageous
