Job Purpose
To supervise and coordinate Engineering Stores operations by ensuring effective inventory management, procurement, and stock control processes, while maintaining optimal stock availability, cost efficiency, compliance with safety and quality standards, and leading the stores team to support engineering and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability and prevent stock losses.
- Ensure timely receipt, issuing, transfer, and accurate recording of stock movements in SYSPRO.
- Conduct and oversee inventory counts and stock takes in line with finance requirements.
- Maintain minimum stock levels and manage commodities such as LPG, diesel, and ammonia.
- Manage procurement activities, including purchasing goods and services and creating purchase orders.
- Coordinate and track imported plant and equipment purchases from overseas OEM suppliers.
- Negotiate with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and improve delivery reliability.
- Provide customer support by resolving queries and converting requirements into product specifications.
- Monitor transport routing, stock collection, and warehouse operations to support business needs.
- Compile inventory metrics, analyze stock variances, and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Lead and manage team performance, workforce planning, recruitment, training, leave, and overtime.
- Standardize procedures, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and manage operational budgets and costs.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, quality, audit, and governance requirements.

Qualification Requirements
Degree / Diploma / Advanced Certificate / NQF level 6 in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Industrial Engineering
Experience Requirements
At least 5-Years’ experience in a similar role
