About the Company

TEFL UK is recruiting South African teachers for teaching positions across Indonesia, Southeast Asia's largest economy.

This is a salaried, visa-sponsored position placing you in a school for a 12-month contract, renewable, with a network of 77+ partner schools across more than 30 cities.

No Indonesian language skills required. No teaching experience required. This is a placement role.

Successful applicants will be based in Indonesia.

About the Role

Indonesia is one of the most accessible first moves in Asia for South African teachers. Demand for English is high and growing, entry requirements are realistic, and unlike much of the region, the door is genuinely open to applicants without prior classroom experience.

It is also a country you'll want to explore on your days off. 17,508 islands, volcanic sunrises over Mount Bromo, the temples of Borobudur and Prambanan, the rice terraces of Java and Bali, and the beaches of Nusa Penida, Lombok and the Gilis.

Weekend travel is cheap and the archipelago is enormous.

Responsibilities

• Teach classes of young learners aged 3 to 18
• Deliver lessons using up-to-date courseware and classroom technology
• Assess student progress and feed back to students and parents
• Set and review homework
• Join school English activities and social events

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in any subject, a legal requirement for the KITAS work visa
• Fluent English. South African applicants are eligible
• A recognised TEFL certificate of at least 120 hours. Not certified yet? TEFL UK will get you qualified in as little as three weeks, and a certificate strengthens your application and helps you secure your preferred location
• A willingness to commit to a full 12-month contract

Pay range and compensation package

• Salary of IDR 12,000,000 to 15,000,000 per month after tax (approx. R11,000 to R13,800), based on location, qualifications and experience
