Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Enrolled Nurse registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC). This role involves assisting with maternal and infant care under the direct or indirect supervision of a Professional Nurse or Midwife, supporting home birth setups, and contributing to patient education and wellness services.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in maternal & infant care: Support mothers during antenatal visits, postnatal checks, and immunisations.
- Home birth support: Assist the midwife during home birth setups.
- On‑call availability: Be available 24/7 for birth attendance when scheduled or required.
- Patient education: Provide guidance on feeding, sleep, and baby care under supervision.
- Clinical documentation: Maintain accurate patient records .
- Team collaboration: Work closely with midwives and clinic staff.
Requirements
- Valid SANC registration as an Enrolled Nurse.
- Clear understanding of scope of practice
- Experience working in a maternity unit, MOU (Midwife Obstetric Unit), or similar maternal health setting.
- Computer literate
- Compassionate, patient‑centred approach.
- Understanding of EPI
- Flexibility for sessional work and availability on call 24/7 for births.
Pay: R60,00 - R100,00 per hour
