Job description
Location: Pretoria North Medical Centre (Dr Brink en Genote)
Position: Full-Time, Permanent (Shift-based over a 30-day month)
Salary: Market-related / Negotiable based on qualification & experience
Are you a proactive, dedicated nurse looking for a highly structured, professional, and positive working environment? Our busy, established general practice is looking for a qualified Enrolled Nurse (EN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team.
Shift & Practice Hours:
Staff work on a flexible shift roster (max 195 hours/month) covering practice hours: Mon-Fri 07:00–18:00, Sat 08:00–13:00, Sun & Public Holidays 09:00–12:00. No night shifts!
CRITICAL ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA (Please read before applying):
- Qualifications: Must have an up-to-date, active SANC registration as an EN or RN.
- No Training/Auxiliary: We are not a training facility; we cannot accept applications from auxiliary nurses, student nurses, or caregivers.
- Languages: Fully proficient in both English and Afrikaans (essential for our patient demographic).
- Locality: Ideally residing in Pretoria North or surrounding areas. Out-of-town candidates must be open to a short-term locum trial first.
Core Duties Include:
- Clinical procedures (Pap smears, swabs, injections, phlebotomy, IV infusions, advanced wound care).
- Diagnostic testing (ECGs, lung function tests, rapid tests) and stock control.
- Assisting 6 GP doctors with minor surgical procedures, lacerations, and uncomplicated fractures.
- Practice admin and logging patient care via our billing system (GoodX experience is a major advantage).

- Standard BCEA leave (15 days per annum).
- Overtime paid for public holidays (no other overtime expected).
