Job description

Develop and implement environmental policies and procedures in accordance with relevant regulations and standards.

Conduct regular environmental audits and assessments to identify potential risks and areas for improvement.

Monitor and track environmental performance metrics to measure progress and identify opportunities for sustainability initiatives.

Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to promote environmental awareness and best practices.

Prepare and submit environmental reports to regulatory agencies as required.

Stay current on environmental laws, regulations, and industry trends to ensure compliance and best practices are maintained.

Oversee the planning and implementation of environmental projects, including water conservation and demand management, waste management, and energy efficiency initiatives.

Conduct training and awareness sessions for employees on environmental issues and best practices.

Be conversant with ESG requirements. Support monitoring activities, including tracking Barberton Mines ESG commitments.

Recognized Degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, or a related technical discipline.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental compliance and management

Knowledge of local environmental regulations and standards

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team

Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Advanced computer literacy
