3. JOB PURPOSE
The Executive Coordinator provides high-level executive, operational, and strategic coordination support, enabling the effective functioning of the CEO’s office and the broader executive leadership environment.
The role plays a key integrative function across ENGIE South Africa by supporting the translation of strategic priorities into structured actions, ensuring alignment across EXCO, and driving execution discipline across CEO-sponsored initiatives. Acting as a trusted coordination anchor, the Executive Coordinator ensures that key priorities are clearly defined, appropriately governed, and effectively tracked through to completion.
While not accountable for strategic decision-making, the role supports executive alignment, governance discipline, and cross-functional coordination across the country platform, contributing to coherent and timely execution of business priorities.
4. WORK OUTPUT DESCRIPTION

Strategic Execution & CEO Support
- Partner with the Country CEO to translate country and Group strategy into clear priorities, executable plans, and measurable outcomes.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO on complex, cross-functional, and sensitive matters.
- Prepare high-quality executive briefs, strategy papers, decision notes, and presentations for EXCO, Board, AMEA, and Group forums.
- Support the CEO in prioritisation, follow-through, and management of strategic risks and opportunities
EXCO & Leadership Alignment
- Coordinate EXCO planning, agendas, and annual calendars, ensuring focus on strategic and value-adding matters.
- Track EXCO decisions and actions, ensuring accountability, timely execution, and escalation where required.
- Drive alignment and collaboration across EXCO members, functions, and assets in line with the ONE ENGIE operating model.
- Support leadership alignment initiatives and organisation-wide priorities
Business Planning, Performance & Reporting
- Support the coordination of key country-level processes, including the Medium-Term Plan (MTP), budget cycles, business reviews, and quarterly performance reporting.
- Monitor execution of strategic initiatives, including transformation, restructuring, digitalisation, and operating model changes.
- Consolidate and synthesise information across functions to provide the CEO with clear, decision-ready insights.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Support strong governance practices across the ENGIE South Africa platform, including decision forums, escalation mechanisms, and delegation of authority.
- Act as a coordination point for high-risk, high-impact, or sensitive matters involving Legal, HR, Finance, Risk, Ethics, and Compliance.
- Ensure alignment with ENGIE Group policies, AMEA requirements, and internal control frameworks.
- Support audit readiness and management of key governance-related actions.
Country Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a central coordination point between Corporate functions, Assets, GBUs, and Shared Services.
- Support and track strategic projects driven by the executive office
- Represent the CEO in selected internal forums, projects, or stakeholder engagements as delegated.
- Support effective engagement with AMEA, Group functions, and key external stakeholders as required.
Transformation & Change Enablement
- Support and drive change initiatives linked to organisational effectiveness, operating model evolution, and cultural transformation.
- Partner with HR, Communications, and Leadership to ensure clear, consistent messaging and change management.
- Promote disciplined execution, collaboration, and psychological safety at senior leadership level.
5. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, BCom or related field.
Exposure to project management practices (formal certification advantageous)
Experience
Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in executive partner, or senior executive advisory roles.
Proven experience operating at enterprise or EXCO level.
Demonstrated experience in executive coordination, governance support, and project-based execution tracking.
Strong exposure to governance, executive forums, and senior stakeholder engagement.
Experience in multinational, matrixed, or regulated environments (energy/infrastructure preferred).
Experience using digital tools, systems, and AI-enabled platforms to prepare presentations, reports, and executive documents.
Language
- English
Computer:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including:
- Outlook – complex calendar and inbox management
- Excel – trackers, dashboards, data organisation
- PowerPoint – executive presentations and packs
- Word – reports, briefs, and formal documentation
Proficiency in SharePoint and document management systems for:
- Document control
- Collaboration and version management
Working knowledge of project management and tracking tools to support:
- Action tracking
- Workstream coordination
- Delivery monitoring
