Salary: R13,685 per month + R3,000 fuel allowance

Position Overview

A prestigious private household in Durban is seeking a professional, highly reliable and discreet Private Chef & Executive Chauffeur to support the culinary and transportation requirements of a corporate CEO.

This unique dual-role position is suited to an individual who takes pride in delivering high-quality cooking, professional executive driving and exceptional service, while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and discretion.

The successful candidate must be adaptable and comfortable working around the dynamic and sometimes changing schedule of a CEO, seamlessly transitioning between culinary responsibilities and executive transportation duties.

Key Responsibilities

1. Private Chef & Culinary Duties

- Plan, prepare and serve fresh, nutritious and high-quality daily meals, primarily breakfast and dinner.

- Prepare meals according to the CEO's preferences and dietary requirements.

- Develop weekly menus with a focus on healthy, balanced and quality meals.

- Purchase and source fresh, high-quality ingredients and groceries.

- Manage household food and grocery inventory.

- Ensure proper food storage, kitchen hygiene and cleanliness.

- Maintain exceptionally high standards of kitchen organisation.

- Assist with light hosting and beverage service during occasional private meetings or dinners.

2. Executive Chauffeur Duties

- Provide safe, punctual and professional transportation for the CEO.

- Drive the CEO to corporate offices, meetings, appointments, airports and personal engagements.

- Provide transportation to and from King Shaka International Airport when required.

- Plan routes efficiently while considering Durban traffic, road conditions and changes to the CEO's schedule.

- Remain flexible and adaptable to changes in the daily schedule.

- Maintain a professional, courteous and discreet manner at all times.

3. Vehicle & Safety Responsibilities

- Maintain assigned vehicle/s in an immaculate and presentable condition.

- Ensure vehicles are regularly cleaned, fuelled and maintained.

- Monitor vehicle servicing, licensing and routine maintenance requirements.

- Conduct basic vehicle safety checks.

- Report vehicle faults or maintenance requirements immediately.

- Maintain complete confidentiality regarding conversations, meetings, schedules and personal information.

Minimum Requirements

- Valid driver's licence.

- Professional driving experience is highly advantageous.

- Clean driving record preferred.

- Previous experience as a private chef, household chef, executive chauffeur, personal driver, hospitality professional or similar role will be advantageous.

- Excellent cooking skills with the ability to prepare healthy, quality meals.

- Knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.

- Strong knowledge of Durban and surrounding areas.

- Excellent time-management and organisational skills.

- Professional appearance and manner.

- Reliable, punctual and trustworthy.

- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion.

- Contactable references required.

- Own vehicle is advantageous.

Working Arrangement & Hours

This is a permanent, full-time, live-out position based in the uMhlanga / Durban North area.

Working Hours:

- Monday – Friday: 08:00 – 17:00

- Saturday: 08:00 – 15:00

- Sunday: Off

The successful candidate must be comfortable with the requirements of a dual Private Chef & Executive Chauffeur role and be able to manage both responsibilities professionally during the scheduled working hours.

Remuneration

Basic Salary: R13685,00 per month

Fuel Allowance: R3,000 per month
