Junior Level position

About the Role

As the Food Services Coordinator, you will be responsible for the daily preparation of meals for 160 disabled adults. This will include preparing large quantities of freezer meals to ensure no food wastage and to be used for meals later. You will assist in the sorting of donations received, which entails the handling and carrying of heavy crates. You will be collecting orders and running errands. You will assist with menu planning, optimisation of food stock, cleaning of the workspace and freezer spaces and assistance for any special events hosted, just to give you an idea. This is a hands-on position, not office-based and not for the lazy.

• Do you have a valid Food Handling Certificate?
• Do you have proven, hands-on experience with cooking and baking

REQUIREMENTS:

• Code B: Driver's License required. You must be able to drive a car and will be tested.
• Physically fit and able to lift and move heavy items.
• SA Citizen.
• Food Handling Certificate.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Daily meal preparations for 160 disabled people
• Prepare meals and baked goods to be frozen
• Receive and sort daily donations. This will include lifting heavy crates
• Menu Planning according to dietary requirements
• Collections of orders
• Kitchen and Service Coordination
• Assist with Stock Control
• Health and Safety Compliance
