EXPERIENCED AUTO ELECTRICIAN

About the Role:

We are a leading fleet management company looking for a qualified, highly skilled Auto Electrician to join our team. If you are a diagnostic expert who thrives on solving complex electrical faults and takes pride in precision work, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose & Repair: Identify and fix complex electrical faults in advanced automotive systems, including starters, alternators, charging systems, and lighting.
• System Programming: Utilize OBD2 scanners and specialized diagnostic software to read codes, clear faults, and program electronic control units (ECUs).
• Wiring & Installation: Read technical wiring diagrams to install, repair, and overhaul 12V/24V circuits, auxiliary systems, and electronic components.
• Can-Bus Diagnostics: Troubleshoot advanced network and communication wiring issues.
• Maintenance: Perform routine electrical preventative maintenance on light vehicles / commercial fleets, yellow heavy machinery].

Requirements & Qualifications

• Trade Test Certificate: Must hold a valid Red Seal / Trade Test Certificate (merSETA / QCTO accredited).
• Education: Minimum N2 Motor Electrical Trade Theory or equivalent.
• Experience: 5 YEARSa + of post-trade experience in an automotive workshop environment.
• Skills: Proficient with modern diagnostic tools, multimeters, and reading complex schematics.
• Licensing: Valid South African driver’s license (Code B or Code EB/EC preferred).
• Attributes: Strong problem-solving abilities, high attention to detail, and a sober habit.

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Johannesburg, Gauteng 2021: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Yellow heavy machines: 5 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• Code 10 (Required)

Willingness to travel:
