Salary: From R6,000 per month

We are an established plumbing import and wholesale company based in Springfield Park, Durban, and are looking for a hardworking, reliable and experienced Warehouse Assistant to join our team.

This is NOT an entry-level warehouse position.

We are specifically looking for applicants who already have a good working knowledge of plumbing materials through previous employment in the plumbing or hardware industry.

If you do not have the required plumbing product knowledge and experience, please do not apply, as applications that do not meet the minimum requirements will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Picking and packing customer orders accurately.
• Receiving, checking and storing incoming stock.
• Loading and unloading delivery vehicles and shipping containers.
• Preparing customer orders for dispatch.
• Assisting with stock control and warehouse organisation.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe warehouse.
• Carrying out general warehouse duties as required.

Essential Requirements

• A minimum of two (2) years' experience in ONE of the following:
• A plumbing wholesaler or plumbing merchant.
• A hardware store with a plumbing department.
• A hardware wholesaler or distributor where you were responsible for picking, packing or handling plumbing materials.
• Applicants currently working as warehouse pickers, storemen or warehouse assistants in the plumbing or hardware wholesale industry are encouraged to apply.
• A sound working knowledge of plumbing materials and fittings is essential.
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual lifting and warehouse duties.
• Honest, reliable and punctual.
• Good attention to detail.
• Able to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
• Contactable references.

Position Details

• Salary: From R6,000 per month.
• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:00.
• Location: Springfield Park, Durban.
• Employment Type: Temporary position with the opportunity for permanent employment based on performance.
