Facilities and Equipment Controller

Head Office/Company Yards/Project Sites

We are seeking a suitably qualified Facilities and Equipment Controller to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the control, coordination and administration of company equipment, facilities and operational assets. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate equipment records, efficient equipment allocation, effective facility maintenance coordination and compliance with company procedures.

Main Responsibilities:

Construction and Building equipment Control and Logistics Coordination

  • Maintain accurate construction and building equipment registers and records of equipment allocations, transfers, recoveries and disposals.
  • Monitor construction and building equipment availability, utilisation and traceability across operational locations.
  • Coordinate the allocation and movement of construction and building equipment between Head Office, yards and project sites.
  • Liaise with operational departments regarding construction and building equipment requirements and availability.
  • Support project mobilisation and demobilisation activities, including construction and building equipment issue and recovery processes.

Inventory, Facilities and Maintenance Coordination

  • Coordinate construction and building equipment verification exercises and inventory counts.
  • Maintain organised, safe and efficient yard and storage areas.
  • Conduct routine inspections of facilities, yards, workshops and construction and building equipment.
  • Identify maintenance, repair and replacement requirements.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities, contractors and service providers.
  • Monitor maintenance work and verify completion in accordance with company standards.

Administration, Reporting and Compliance

  • Maintain construction and building equipment control documentation and audit-ready records.
  • Prepare construction and building equipment utilisation, inventory and movement reports.
  • Support internal audits, inspections and verification processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company construction and building equipment control procedures and SHEQ requirements.
  • Process maintenance-related documentation, quotations, approvals and supporting records.

Education and Qualifications

  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
  • Certificate, Diploma or relevant qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management or a related field will be advantageous.

Experience

  • 3–5 years’ experience in construction site equipment control, inventory management, logistics, stores or facilities coordination.
  • Experience maintaining asset registers, inventory records and operational documentation.
  • Experience coordinating construction and building equipment movements, maintenance activities or contractor services.

Added advantages

  • Experience in a construction, plant, engineering or infrastructure environment.
  • Experience with asset management systems or inventory control software such as ERP.
  • Forklift licence (where operationally required).
  • Qualification in Inventory or Construction and Building Equipment Management.
  • Preference will be given to local residents of Blackheath (within 20/30 km radius).
