Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, safety, cleanliness, and operational functionality of all company facilities and surrounding premises. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing maintenance staff, coordinating repairs and renovations, overseeing contractors and service providers, and ensuring that all company infrastructure remains safe, compliant, and fully operational.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities & Infrastructure Management
- Oversee the maintenance, upkeep, and operational functionality of all company buildings, offices, staff facilities, and surrounding premises.
- Ensure facilities are maintained in a clean, safe, and presentable condition at all times.
- Implement and manage preventative maintenance programmes.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance requirements and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Coordinate repairs, renovations, and infrastructure improvement projects.
- Ensure facilities meet operational, safety, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Team Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise and coordinate the work of maintenance and cleaning personnel.
- Manage and provide direction to maintenance and support staff.
- Monitor work quality, productivity, and adherence to safety procedures.
- Ensure maintenance activities are completed efficiently and within required timeframes.
Maintenance & Repairs
- Oversee general building maintenance and repair work.
- Coordinate maintenance activities relating to electrical systems, plumbing, air-conditioning, ceiling installations, and general facility infrastructure.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and operational issues.
- Ensure all repairs are completed to the required standard.
Projects & Contractor Management
- Supervise building improvement projects, renovations, and facility upgrades.
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and within specifications.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates.
- Ensure all contractors comply with company safety and operational requirements.
Fire Safety & Compliance
- Assist with the inspection and maintenance of fire protection systems.
- Ensure fire safety equipment remains compliant and operational.
- Identify and report deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions.
- Promote a safe working environment throughout all company facilities.
Diesel Management
- Assist with the receipt and transfer of diesel deliveries into company storage facilities.
- Verify quantities received and maintain accurate records.
- Prepare and submit diesel delivery and usage reports.
- Ensure compliance with safe fuel handling procedures.
Administration & Reporting
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and documentation.
- Prepare reports on maintenance activities, facility inspections, projects, and diesel management.
- Monitor maintenance trends and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Minimum Requirements
- Proven experience in facilities management, building maintenance, or a similar supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of building maintenance and facility management principles.
- Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general building systems.
- Experience supervising maintenance and cleaning teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong contractor and service provider management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, planning, and organisational abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Valid driver's licence will be advantageous.
