Job description

Job Purpose:

The Facility Engineer supports the Facility Management function by managing the multi-disciplinary engineering aspects of the projects during the Operations and Maintenance phase, ensuring that the project aligns with objectives, budgets, and timelines, in continuously providing technical expertise, minimizing risks and optimizing project outcomes. Technical support, coordination and management at all cross-functional levels as required to effectively facilitate the Facility Management function in all the technical aspects of the Facilities, in collaboration with all related stakeholders. Supporting, facilitating and coordinating within the O&M Team whilst ensuring that continuous integration and collaboration is performed with all the Red Rocket interrelated Teams so as to effectively perform the role and function necessary within Facility Management, and in all related aspects as may be determined and requested from time to time in line with the ongoing and future strategies of Red Rocket.

  • Management and processing of project technical queries.
  • Review and management of project O&M Manuals.
  • Conduct frequent site visits to ensure overall technical performance of the project.
  • Technical compliance monitoring of the project in accordance with the respective contracts and project documents, including monitoring and verification that the operations and maintenance activities are conducted as required under the contracts and in line with the O&M and OEM Manuals, and such other guidelines required by Law, the Codes. Defects, deviations and non-compliance management.
  • Provision of technical support with respect to warranty and insurance matters and claims under the O&M contracts, insurance policies and related agreements and Project Documents.
  • Compilation, review, presentation and interrogation of reports.
  • Review and assessment of technical reports, method statements and information received from Contractors and other parties in relation to the Contracts and Project Documents.
  • Coordination and collaboration in preparation for, and attending EXCO and board meetings, and ad hoc presentations for and on behalf of the Project Company positively for the respective Facilities.
  • Overall compliance to all the internal Policy and Procedures of Red Rocket where applicable
  • Implementation and coordination of all the applicable Integrated Management System requirements as they apply for the respective Facilities and Red Rocket
  • Ensuring effective utilisation of available systems and tools such as Central SCADAs and mobile applications, as far as is required to fulfil the role and as is necessary and applicable for the coordination and management of the O&M Team and Facility Management teams on the Facilities.
  • Development and collaboration to improve internal O&M systems, manuals, policies and procedures within the overall Operational systems as and when required.
  • Involvement and coordination in all the relevant and respective project phases such as commissioning and Taking Over, providing necessary technical support to ensure that the respective project meets the acceptable Tests as required in the contracts and comply with the Project Documents.
  • Foster and lead a corporate culture that promotes sustainable ethical practices, encourages individual integrity and fulfils social responsibility objectives and imperatives whilst maintaining positive client relationships.
  • Share knowledge, transfer of skills and lessons learnt activities within the Team to drive best practices and team growth.
  • Carry out duties in a proper, loyal and efficient manner to the best of their ability and at all times act in good faith and use their best endeavours to properly conduct, improve, extend, develop, promote, protect and preserve the business interests, reputation and goodwill of the Company and not do anything or engage in any activity which is or may become harmful or contrary to such interests,
  • Immediately disclose to the Employer any information which comes to their knowledge, and which does, or may, lead to them not being lawfully able to perform their duties or responsibilities.

Minimum Educational Qualifications:

  • Degree/Diploma in relevant fields

Minimum Previous Experience:

  • 3+ years in the renewable energy market
  • 3+ years in project management
  • Expert Microsoft office suite
  • Good knowledge of Wind technologies
  • Experience in commissioning
  • Knowledge of the principles of Project Documents such as Power Purchase Agreements, EPC and O&M Agreements
  • Health, Safety and Environmental legal knowledge and ability to apply per the law, contracts and authorities
  • Capability of problem solving and team working as well as the availability to travel within different projects
  • O&M milestones delivered against plans and budgets
  • Adoption of O&M best practice processes and governance across the key business areas
  • Effective communication aptitude both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company
