FARM MANAGER – FM2630

Ladysmith area, Kwa-Zulu Natal Province – South Africa: This mixed agriculture business is looking for an experienced and hands-on Farm Manager to lead their farming operations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Previous commercial farming management experience.
• Practical knowledge of crop and livestock production.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and management.
• Zulu-speaking ability will be advantageous.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Basic computer literacy and sound record-keeping skills.
• Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
• Hard-working, reliable and willing to work flexible hours, including weekends when required.
• Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee and manage all day-to-day farm activities and operations.
• Lead, manage and motivate farm staff and teams.
• Manage crop production including seed potatoes, maize, soya and cabbages.
• Oversee livestock management and general animal husbandry.
• Plan and manage irrigation schedules and water usage.
• Coordinate and manage crop spraying schedules and applications.
• Maintain accurate financial, operational and administrative records.
• Monitor farm inputs, stock, equipment and general resources.
• Identify operational problems and implement practical solutions.
• Ensure work is carried out efficiently, safely and to the required standards.
